魔大农 What's different about Open Saucer that it leaves you clueless?

I have no makefile, install script, install instructions in readme or cmake file or autotools file.

魔大农 cd heXonBuildTree; ln -s heXonRoot/Resources should fix that error. When no Resources folder can be found next to the binary, it will look for them in the application preferences directory, e.g. ~/.local/share/luckey/hexon.

I don't know how to do that. There are no directories heXonBuildTree and heXonRoot. Copying the Resources directory to ~/.local/share/luckey/hexon didn't help.

Peter Open Saucer should work the same with a different project name. The .pri file provides the required linkage, which can be found in the src folder.

"heXonBuildTree" and "heXonRoot" should not be taken litteraly:

With heXonBuildTree I actually mean the folder the binary is run from
With heXonRoot I mean the folder you git cloned it to

The command ln -s PATH creates a symlink to PATH within the current folder.

I am in the git main dir when I type hexon. And there already is the directory "Resources". (I don't know where the executable "hexon" is.)

I can't find a .pri file in OpenSaucer/src. Edit: I tried "qmake OpenSaucer.pro". That seems to work. But now I get:

/usr/local/include/Dry/Physics/PhysicsWorld.h:33:10: fatal error: Bullet/LinearMath/btIDebugDraw.h: No such file or directory

Peter When heXon can't find a folder called Resources it will (in my case) use ~/.local/share/luckey/hexon/ as it's resource folder; not a subdirectory. The location of the application preferences directory (~/.local/share/) may differ. Try locate luckey/logs and see what it returns.

Hm, so same error for Open Saucer as KO.
Did you try building LucKey Park again? If it gives the same error I'll see how I can make these projects more like heXon.

Cloned Park again and tried to build it. Got this error:
/usr/local/include/Dry/Container/Field.h:26:10: fatal error: ../Container/HashMap.h: No such file or directory

Peter As mentioned the relevant change there was made to the engine, not the game: A git pull within the Dry folder and recompiling it should solve this issue.

Sorry, but now I get:

Peter Well that's a lot of errors all over the place which I'm not experiencing. If you have any ideas on how to improve this situation I'd be happy to follow your advice and/or merge your efforts.

魔大农 Well, if you don't experience these errors I suspect that's something related to my distro. I don't know; it's just a guess. I think the problem with many headers not found means either the build scripts or the distro has bugs. Do you use Ubuntu, like I do? And which version?

Tomorrow I'll buy DVD-Rs and then I try out Manjaro. I am unsatisfied by my Xubuntu anyway.

Peter Environments differ, but heXon builds. One difference I noticed is that heXon does not include Dry/Dry.h anywhere, maybe it's causing conflicts. I modified Open Saucer so it doesn't include it either. Could you try one more git pull and see if it builds now? You may have to clean the build folder.

I run 64-bit Linux Mint Una, Xfce edition. Also, I tend to install Linux from a USB flash drive using mintstick. In Xubuntu you can install usb-creator-gtk which does the same.

When you feel like testing again, I still wonder if the latest Open Saucer builds for you.

I have to delay testing because my PC suddenly went out of order. I have no clue if I get it working in some hours or if I have to buy a new PC. 🙁
